How Can severe Migraine Headache Be Treated?

Hello, I used to have migraines really bad years ago. I was diagnosed with Fibromyalgia and Rheumatoid Arthritis about 1 1/2 yrs ago. I used Humira with Methotrexate and it did not work for me. I have been on Enbrel for about 3 months. But now, I am experiencing migraines again. It affects my mouth, specially my lower jaw and lower part of my neck like a tension headache. Could this be from the use of Enbrel? Thank you

Short answer: Yes, Enbrel (Etanercept) can cause very bad headaches.

Detailed answer: Migrains from any cause can be treated with over the counter pain killers like Acetaminophen or Ibuprofen. Water vapor inhalation and coffee can sometimes help in migrain caused by sinusitis.
Enbrel (Etanercept) is prescribed to you for rheumatoid arthritis. It helps in preventing the damage to joint and surrounding tissue, lowering inflammation and pain.
But if the headaches are very bad I suggest you discuss these side effects with your doctor so that he/she can change the drug if required.
